Since its inception in 1993, Marketing Projects Inc. was among the first in the industry to recognize the value of content marketing when addressing educators. Along with the creation of school outreach programs and a full range of content rich marketing communications materials, it launched a series of Big Deal Books to reach segments of the education market in 1995 with organizations such as Barnes & Noble Booksellers, the American Federation of Teachers and AGS.

In 1997, with the sponsorship of Ameritech, it launched The Big Deal Book of Technology to provide carefully curated resources that help educators integrate technology into the curriculum. Since 2002, The Big Deal Book of Technology has been sponsored by CDW•G and reaches some 60,000 technology directors, tech coordinators, media specialists, curriculum directors and tech-savvy teachers semiannually.
